I have a Dynaco ST-70 which is very noisy!  I noted that if I cross the power cord with another AC wire of another component at 90 degrees then the amp. is dead quiet. I would like to modify my st 70 power cord to 3 wire type so I can braid/shield it.  The question is: Do I just ground the 3rd wire to the chassis?
Any suggestion would be helpful!

Thanks,
Ben

It's the place to start.  I hate moving grounds around in the chassis itself.  Also check that existing grounds are clean and tight.
