Coming to White Mule (a club) in Columbia SC Oct 27. I would go if I wasn't an old fart.

I think the plastic gun thing would work if you used that kind of plastic they use to encapsulate every damn thing you buy these days. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes of slashing (and risking cutting your hands off) with a boxcutter just to get a product out!

Charlotte and I watched a very nice fireworks display last night in Blythewood, SC. Although it was dazzling and had the ooh and aah factor, I never  once felt the urge to wear eye protection and hide behind something. So I think Eds "improvised pyrotechnics" has them beat! Happy 4th, eat some que and drink some cold ones!

Stephen Hawking died on 3.14, seems appropriate.

I was going to get the shingles shot when I got the flu shot, but they said you had to wait 30 days. So it has been 4 months now, guess I need to do it. I've heard shingles  are only good on the roof! I've been dealing with lower back pain and sciatica since Thanksgiving and it is not going away by itself. Dr. Appt. Tues., hopefully some flexeril and some time off will help. Sucks getting old.

The State Farms Commercial playing "Don't you forget about me" Simple Minds from 1985 gets in my ear.

As a member of The Wrecking Crew, his work can be heard on hundreds (if not thousands) of recordings. He was practically a Beach Boy, with all the studio work and he toured with them some too. I never really listened to "Galveston" until lately. It was a Viet Nam era song, the lyrics are beautiful. RIP Mr. Campbell.

Wow, so sad to hear. He was truly a pioneer. He lived a full life, and a human body can take just so much. I got to see ABB in Columbia when Duane was alive, and at the August Jam in Charlotte in 1974. Live at Fillmore East best live album ever made.

Glad I got to see Odie one last time Saturday at HF. I think everybody at HF said goodbye and a prayer.

Coming Saturday afternoon, bringing chili. Ed, do I need to bring a rifle?

Uh, it would be so loud you won't need the tannerite.

Would 7mm rem-mag be high power enough?

This is starting to remind me of Carl the groundskeeper from Caddyshack. Ed, you should try singing the Green Berets song as you plot against the evil varmints. "Silver wings upon their chest..."

Knowing Ed, substituting water for beer would be "cheating", probably a different density times pi PBR squared. But, he was surely playing Radar Love during the testing, what with baselines and reference and all.
