In another life I was the Maint. Supervisor for the Historic Commision and the Mills house was one of 4 that I took care of.

Great pictures!   I especially like the last one.  Helen has the touch for sure.  :)

There's another. Hampton Preston Mansion..............they credited to someone else but fixed it.  When I was the Maint. Super.  I worked for the "Richland County Historic Preservation Commision". "Historic Columbia" was a rival of ours and they always wanted "our" property. We Had the Robert Mills House, Hampton Preston Mansion, Woodrow Wilson's Boyhood Home and the Mann-Simons Cottage.

RCHPC was later dissolved and Historic Columbia "won the battle". We NEVER called Hampton Preston a "house" it was a Mansion and the real treasures were in the basement.....

The Houses were (when I was there)  decorated with real artifacts and set up to be "period appropriate" and what they looked like when they were in "their prime".
