Post by: derockster on December 21, 2016, 05:34:40 AM
Hi All,

Anyone crossing over their horns to mate with their sub/s and if so how high are you crossing them over at.

Merry Christmas to All

I run the Horns full range and set the sub crossover at 63hz.  The Horns aren't in corners and a into the room a little.  If you have corners, 40-50hz would work.

Also, the speaker level inputs to the sub amp are better than line level.  It makes for better integration in my system.

Merry Christmas to you as well.  :)

Using a XLS Crown 63 HZ seems to be a natural sub crossover point for the Horns. I let my Horns run full range, and recommend the same speaker level hook up Henry uses. (Great minds thinking alike) I used a different tweeter than the Heils, but I doubt that had any impact on balancing out the system.
If you play your system at ear bleeding levels, you might want to high pass the Horns at 50-60 HZ.

Hi guys,

I am crossing mine over at 250htz to meet a pair of woofers which take over from there and play down to 30htz.
